Where we found it: On a water fountain at a Yuri’s Night party in the Museum of Life and Science (Durham, NC)

Why it's awesome: This microbe can tolerate very high levels of salt (up to 15%) that would kill most other bacteria

Fun fact: This was the first Kocuria species to be found in the ocean, though they are very common on land (and on people)
